11-Year-Old Son of Tribal Chieftain and Anti-Mining Activist Gunned Down in Philippines
It started out as a normal morning for Jordan Manda, but it turned out to be his last. The 11-year-old son of anti-mining activist Timuay Lucenio Manda perished when gunmen ambushed the car as the Subanen tribal chieftain drove the child to school.
And you wouldn’t see this in news in the Philippines. Nor will Noynoy care because he never has cared. Ugh this saddens me. :(
My dad is watching TFC right now and I asked him if there was any mention of this incident and you’re right so far, there’s nothing.
It’s sadly always like that though. There have been so many shootings and murders of activists and journalists for issues regarding mining, the environment, indigenous, human rights, etc. during Noynoy Aquino’s term and you rarely see anything on it on the news and Noynoy isn’t doing a thing about it or addressing it. One of the many reasons I don’t like him or the police and military force because of it.
Butting in.
Two words. Oplan Bayanihan.
Pftt. Those two words is enough to describe Aquino’s administration and actions. Don’t even have to say anything more.
