Some Ground Rules:

- This blog is racist, ableist, sexist, fatphobic, queerphobic, and transphobic free and I will tolerate no one who brings these things into my space

- I don't mind answering questions or asks about social justice topics but please remember that I am not here specifically to educate you or anybody else

- I will gladly tag all of my posts if anybody feels triggered or uncomfortable by what I blog but again please remember that this is my blog and I will always put my own safety and mental health first

- This is my space and if you respect me then I will respect you. Simple as that.

Let's keep it positive folks! : )

Mattel is doing some really great things right now, and this is definitely the kind of stuff I want to see more of from them.

I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a great lesson too in their new 13 Wishes

I was under the assumption that Skelita’s ancestors were Aztec because of their location based on Skelita’s map, but yeah, that’s some pretty interesting information and its made me rethink some things.

As for the comment about MH’s history with WOC I agree that MH is still problematic and like you pointed out, the fact that they give Skelita special treatment is really obvious since they really missed the mark with their latest short where Jinafire takes the role of Wise And All-Knowing POC — but I still think that they should be commended for addressing these issues in ways that no series for teenage girls has really done (at least one with its own doll franchise). I’d really like to see them make Skelita a new standard as well and it makes me interested to see what else they’ll come up with next.

I’ve found that even though MH does mess up sometimes, there’s usually some kind of silver-lining (like Jinafire being really interested in metalwork, which is something usually associated with men). I think its important to acknowledge the good as well as the bad, so that we know what we need to do in the future and what we need to work on.

Monster High: A Feminist Analysis

Yeah so I decided to pop this baby out since everyone seems to have such a problem with race discussions — why not discussions about gender too? I mean why the fuck not?

Anyway, let’s get this show on the road.

got-to-stop-spinning:

[TW: Rape Culture]

Someone wrote a post about this once before, and it’s very true.

I recently settled on nonbinary as my gender. Agender most of the time, but just in general, nonbinary.

And feminism doesn’t really include nonbinary individuals.

It makes me sad. People read me as female all…
